The Artful Academy at the Museum is a new opportunity for children and adults to participate in history-inspired art lessons at the museum! During these hands-on classes, instructor Ms. Lindsee will offer a bite-sized history and art lesson for all ages! Thursday, June 12

• 10:30-11:20 (Ages 3-6) Learn the letter B at the Museum! We will explore the museum, do creative letter activities, and a comprehensive art project connected to what we found in the museum.

• 11:30-12:30 (Ages 5-12) Extra art lesson within the 1866-1882 timeline! (*Lessons and projects for this age group are the same as the 1 PM class, but simplified for restless little artists!)

• 1:00-3:00 (Ages 13+) Extra art lesson within the 1866-1882 timeline! In this class, we will be painting self-portraits! We will be learning about the different features of the human face with all of our similarities and differences.  

 

Thursday, June 19

• 11:30-12:30 (Ages 5-12) Timeline series: Industry Innovations (1882-1900) (*Lessons and projects for this age group are the same as the 1 PM class, but simplified for restless little artists!)

• 1:00-3:00 (Ages 13+) Timeline series: Industry Innovations (1882-1900) The time of Creative Culture!  We will be looking at art during that period and how artists found new ways to represent reality and emotions. 

 

Thursday, June 26

• 1:00-3:00 (All Ages Welcome!) New Country Study: Canada – Our ancestors have immigrated from all around the world. We will be doing a different country study each month, learning all about culture, food, and art. This month, we will be learning about Canada!

We’re kicking off the summer with an evening art class for adults only! We’ll provide the 16”x20” canvas and all supplies needed to create a beautiful acrylic painting, “Marjorie’s Rose Garden.” Whether you’re a seasoned painter or just looking for a creative escape, this class is sure to be a fun-filled evening.
